The Diamond DA40 Diamond Star is a single engine light aircraft built by Diamond Aircraft Industries in Austria and Canada. It was developed as a four-seat version of the earlier DA20 .
It is a cantilever monoplane with a fixed nose-wheel landing gear and a T-tail. The aircraft has officially appeared in 3 versions: DA40, DA40D, DA40F.
The DA40-XL is one of the refined versions of the DA40.
